End of the year sales and a week long Holiday Season are pretty good reasons for shoppers to embark on a shopping journey. But wait, don’t go anywhere because you can now track most of these smart online shoppers shopping at one particular online destination i.e. Amazon.com. Well, that’s what the online retail giant reports. It has observed that more than 70 percent of the online transactions were made on mobile and that the Amazon App users almost doubled this figure.

These are some of the recent stats by Amazon post their Christmas sales update. It was reported that a number of factors were involved in achieving those significant and some not so significant shopping milestones.

The latest entrant in Amazon’s success contributing factors is the growth of Prime, one of its paid subscription services that offers free or discounted shipping services among other such customer perks to its list of subscribers. The company in its report doesn’t give out the exact number of Prime subscribers, but it does inform about the presence of more than 10 million worldwide Prime account holders. Prime saw a growth of more than 3 million subscribers in its December end report.

The report claims that amongst its several in-house manufactured products, Amazon Fire Tablet emerged as the No.1 product, followed by Amazon Fire TV which came in at the third position as one of the hot selling electronic devices.

On a not so significant note, the company reported that its Prime Video subscribers watched The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 more than any other movie during the holiday season, with Perry Como’s “Home for Holidays” emerging as the most sought-after music album on Prime Music.
